Our server Kim was very efficient and very good at her job - completing the tasks set before her easily. I wouldn’t call her “warm & fuzzy” though. She didn’t try to serve us personally. Who knows? Perhaps she was not having a good day. We got to sit up on the 2nd floor since no one could have sat outside on this rainy, blustery night! Lovely views and it seemed like there was a good space between tables. Good food, good drinks, good friends! We do love Ela’s - it’s a hidden gem!
Overall, food and atmosphere was great! For how nice the restaurant is, you could at least put a whiskey cube in the old fashioned. Sides that came with the Grouper were very basic. Scallops w/ risotto were very tasty.
The food was excellent. We had the lobster bisque, lime shrimp (could have used a bit more lime flavor but excellent nonetheless), swordfish special (perfectly cooked) and crab cakes. I did not enjoy the chairs; we were seated at a table that had mid-height chairs (not full bar height and not low table) in order to see out to the beautiful water, but they were very uncomfortable for a tall person. Always a great meal in a great location! Wonderful menu choices to please anyone.
We have been coming to Ela’s once or twice a year for the last 5+ years. This time we left disappointed. The Salmon Rockefeller, my usual favorite, was dry and rather tasteless. And there was too little salmon compared to the mashed potato’s. The lobster nachos simply tasted like nacho chips with no detectable lobster taste. The kitchen was also running slow. Maybe this was one bad night. Or maybe they lost their chef..
Food was very good. Service was good. We were celebrating two birthdays and a 27 year anniversary and no one said anything or acknowledged it which was very disappointing.
Oh my goodness! When we visit HHI, this is a must. Wonderful view and food!
Great meal as always. Great service and even saw 3 manatees in the harbor from our outdoor table. Can’t wait to go back again
We have eaten here many many times and it is always Spectacular. Great view of the harbor.
