The location is ideal, the waitress was attentive. We got the tasting menu and I felt the entree--steak and scallops were not that good. The steak was so thinly cut that it arrived over cooked, the potato was served cold, the scallops did not have a nice sear and the rice was also cold. I took my wife for her birthday and it happened to be during restaurant week. We both ordered off of the special menu and the food was outstanding and the portions were sized perfectly so we could enjoy all 4 courses. Ela's is one of our favorite restaurants and they have never let us down. We recommend Ela's to all of our friends that come to Hilton Head.
We had brunch and it was exceptional! The manager was very attentive and our server was sweet and fun. We will absolutely go back next time we are in Hilton Head.

What a lovely evening at Ella’s! It was restaurant week on Hilton Head and Ella’s did not disappoint. Their special menu offered variety and attention to detail that other restaurants we sampled did not. Every course was well conceived. I had a filet and shrimp entree that was perfect. We will be back to Ella’s soon.
Told host this was a 55th wedding anniversary. He asked us to wait a moment, then took us to best window corner table, over the marina, with 2 glasses of champagne on it! Wow! Great food, service, good value. Telling people about it. Definitely will be back. Has to be spectacular lunch place when warms up.
My wife and I ordered off the customer appreciation menu. My wife’s scallops were OK, not much flavor. Her filet was very good and done perfectly. My salmon dish was fishy and the asparagus was tough at the ends (they did not trim the tough ends). Short ribs were very good. Intermezzo had melted and was refrozen. Not good at all. Key lime pie was good but strawberry cake was dry, not moist and flavorful. Overall, did not live up to expectations.
We were there for "restaurant week" and it was our first time there. The area where we were seated was so so, a small area upstairs seemed like "out of the way". The tuna tartar and shrimp were excellent as well as the short ribs and scallops. The small filet was good but the salmon was only ok. Our dessert selections were strawberry cake and key lime pie. The key lime was out of this world. The cake was good. During the season we will be back especially if we can sit outside on a beautiful night on Hilton Head.
