This facility was very focused on 18-25 year olds many with drug abuse/personality disorder issues. We spent about 6 hours every day in some form of classroom activities. For my money, I felt we should've been in a healing program 12 hours a day, including during meals. As someone a bit older than most patients who was placed due to a suicide attempt, I only realized they were after the $21,000 fee regardless of their inability to afford me the kind of therapy I needed. Skyland trail motivated me to learn DBT skills and put them to use,I will give them that. BUT... I have to say it was one of the worst experiences of my life. This facility is a disgrace, clients are seen as just that, CLIENTS (rather than patients) to make them MONEY. I was at Skyland for 6 months. During this time I witnessed so many gross injustices and negligence on the part of the counselors and other staff.
