Terrible animal hospital. Will not take responsibility if they mess up. Will not apologize. But they will say it sounds congenital when they push a needle in their eye and make the animal lose the eye like my baby girl.

could learn to not damage a pups eye
I took my registered service dog ( my heart) into Southside Pet Hospital and they had to pull a baby tooth from her top left side of her mouth because it never fell out and they ended up stabbing the nerve block seringe past it and into her left eye. I took her back in the next day and they said she had anterior lens luxation and that their ophthalmologist they called said it sounded congenital( absolutely absurd.) Took our dogs to get their check ups. Doctors were decent but the bill was about twice the amount first told to us. Paid the bill but won’t be returning as we didn’t appreciate the surprised billing. Other than that decent experience.

I lost my dog due to a hit and run & witnessed the loss of my dog and instead of Southside having sympathy and compassion they completely acted like I was a bother bringing my sweet Mercedes to them. They kept informing me to call the doctor like she was alive but she said she was already gone when we arrived. The first time we went to Southside they opened up a can of wet food to use as a treat for our dog because she has food allergies... they charged us for that food, even though it wasn’t our idea nor did we want it. They are not helpful when it comes to needing to get in right away for emergency situations and are unwilling to make exceptions for their patients. We went today and it was horrible. The vet (Dr. McDermott) was rude and threatened to call animal control on my dog because he was behind on his rabies vaccine (which is why we were there). Her technician failed to get a temp or heartbeat from him. They needed to look at his paws and could not do so properly. They muzzled him because of his side and their lack of expertise. I have taken my dogs here for years but it is not the same and after my experience today, we are leaving. As I was waiting in lobby, the customer before me stormed out of their room and left. The receptionist, the tech, and a vet all were talking about him in front of me in the lobby - about how he was mad that he had to pay for something before even seeing the vet. Unprofessional.
