I use(d) this vet mainly because we live in the area. A former vet there did a great job with one of our cats and she ended up living another 6 years after falling ill - she made it to 20! With my next two I decided to go all out and went to a holistic vet. We had an experience with them that left a bad taste in my mouth and we then tried another cat-only vet. They were fine but nothing special and I didn't think they were worth the extra money and hassle. We ended up back at St. Paul and I couldn't be happier. In one ... read more

Yes, they care about your pet's health and well being. Yes, it is substantially cheaper than other vets. Yes, it is a walk-in vet clinic. (No appointments necessary.) No, they don't overcharge for pet prescriptions, and they have most available on site. No, they don't have a waterfall in the waiting room. I wouldn't take Mister Pusster anywhere else.

This is gonna be a biased review because these people saved my cat's life. No bones about it, if you save the life of my loved ones I'm going to give you five stars. But I'm not completely biased; they certainly earned their stars. About a year ago one of my cats, Guinea Pig, was being super lethargic. Just lying around behind things and panting and having some weird discharge. We called another animal hospital in town and they told us we needed to take her to a vet immediately, no questions asked, RIGHT NOW. St. Paul ... read more

I have been taking all of my pets to St. Paul Vet for 14 yrs. now. - 11 cats and 1 dog total. I currently have 6 cats and a dog. Because of my positive experiences with St. Paul, my sister also takes her 3 dogs there, and we are VERY skeptical/distrusting of most vets! Both of us have done animal rescues and know quite a bit about cats and dogs, so we have a good idea about illnesses and injuries, tests that need to be done, course of treatment, etc. The vets at St. Paul have always done exactly what needed to be done and ne... read more

Dr. Kelly Thompson at St. Paul Vet Clinic is wonderful. My toy Yorkie, Teddy, was having upper respiratory issues with a bad cough. It was hard to know if this was Kennel Cough or a possible collapsing trachea. Dr. Kelly and her staff took the time with Teddy and after a round of antibiotics and some prescription strength cough medicine...he is doing SO MUCH BETTER!!! So relieved. Dr. Kelly took the time to make sure Teddy got the right dosage because he was so small. She referred me to a special place that made up Teddy's... read more

I have utilized St Paul Vet Clinic many times. I like that they have Saturday hours. You can't make an appointment, it is first come, first served. So get there before they open. Each time, we have been seen within 15-20 minutes. I used to use this vet clinic when they were actually located on St Paul Avenue. I took my cocker there for regular care. My parents used this clinic for their dogs when I was a kid. Do not let the location or building scare you away. They provide excellent care at a reasonable price. I took my g... read more

So, it's location is a little sketch...and it looks like a dump. But it's a true diamond in the rough. You are making a huge mistake if you take your animal anywhere else. Not only will you be financially raped by any other vet--you're going to have to take off of work to get there before they close! This vet caters to the working class and has extended hours that make sense. I took my cat there when he was peeing blood, and while I opted not to get the ultrasound to confirm his bladder stones--the vet performed one ... read more

I moved to Milwaukee and was a bit hesitant to take my cats to a new vet. Other places I called, like the cat doctor, immediately started pushing me to do unnecessary tests and shots without even seeing my cat! $$$$ I just got a new kitten and decided to take her to St. Paul. It was walk in only, but the wait time was no more than you would have to wait anywhere else with an appointment. The front desk was extremely friendly and I could tell that the staff were all loving pet owners themselves. The veterinarian was informat... read more

We have taken our pets here for years. It is on a walk in basis and there is never a long wait time. The staff is very friendly and treat you and your pet with respect. We always make friends with other people waiting to be seen and you can see just how indulged our pets are.
