I was very pleased with their service. They installed HVAC units for us last year. When there was a problem with one of the units in the apartment, I called them and made an appointment with their representative Trevor. Trevor was very helpful throughout the whole process, and the technicians were all friendly and professional. They were able to identify the problem and even comped the service! Don't purchase your PTAC unit from Stanley Ruth. In my building, they got the coop board to recommend them to shareholders, when installing PTAC units was mandated. That's over 300 apartments! They must have sweetened the deal too, because our quote was much lower than the other 2 companies the board recommended. Mine was installed 2 years ago, and never worked properly from day one. They are contractors to our apartment rental. Mostly rude staff / handymen they even have the guts to be arrogant when you ask a question (i.e to understand the problems occurring in our aircon-heaters). They came several times to our apartment and rarely resolved the problem. Feels like a lottery of which handyman comes in and if he is nice/professional/can actually fix something. I used Stanley Ruth to install PVAC A/Cs in my apartment. They were fine, if not terribly responsive. Then they offered a 1-year service contract to maintain the A/Cs for $1000. I actually took them up on this, thinking if it was so expensive, it must be necessary. However, what they did over the next year was to show up twice and look at the A/Cs! Stanley Ruth did the install of our in wall air-conditioners several years ago. The install was fine, though expensive. We have had yearly service contracts with them since. They are happy to bill for and collect the money, and their routine service is OK, but their customer service for problems, etc. is not good. Reaching them is difficult - often takes several calls. I am NOT happy with this company. Sure, their prices are reasonable (sort of) but the customer service sucks. They have literally never returned one of my phonecalls ever. Claims of their voicemail system being down only last so long...this is weeks now. The only way I can get anything done with them is to keep calling and calling and insist to speak to a live person. We used Stanley Ruth Co. some years back for a big job when we renovated our apt. It was a costly job, installing new A/C-Heat through-the-wall units. They are not an inexpensive company but their service was very good. We have used them over the years for servicing the units and even though they had to return several times to make things right, they did so in a professional manner. Ridiculous, terrible service. Not only did they continue to push back their appointment time (after I had to check in, not them letting me know) and FINALLY showed up 2.5 hours later, but they charged an unbelievable hourly rate for just 10 minutes of service. I called for a leak to be fixed but had requested general maintenance since they were coming anyway.
