So disappointed! Food, service, seats, and menu were not at all what we were used to from the previous owners.
Can y'all turn off the fluorescent lighting before the movie starts? It's really abrasive and reflects on the screen during the ads. Surely the side lighting is adequate...
Let's talk about Star Cinema. I have visited this location while it was Alamo for years and never had a problem. However, the transition to Star Cinema has been less that smooth. I have been to Star now a few times and have noticed a decrease in quality of their food as well as customer service. I have also noticed that for the portions you receive, their menu is highly overpriced. But that isn't enough to not make me a customer. On a whim, my co-worker and I decided to come see this awesome movie since a resident gave us free tickets. Well, I was not disappointed! I would have given a higher rating but the chairs didn't recline, but they were in the process of getting chairs that did. It's cozy, nice bar area, very friendly staff and I can't remember what kind of drink I ordered but it was REFRESHING and very good...I had 3😁 I will be coming back!
Got here a little early and grabbed a beer. Since its sunny and 78 degrees we decided to sit outside. Half the outside tables and chairs are still wet from this morning's rain. Guess these guys aren't up to the same housekeeping standards as the former owner Alamo Draft House. Hope the theater interior has received more recent attention.
A couple years ago, I had my first dinner and a movie here. At the time, it was called "Alamo Draft House". Now the new owners, "Star Cinema Grill" promise reclining chairs, and push button access to our server once construction is done. That's all well and good, however...the STRONG point about the Alamo Drafthouse was the food. I wrote amazed after our first visit...that the pizza was the best I'd had in Houston.
