Mum was admitted to the hospital from Summer Lane care home. Her dress and slippers were soaked in urine. Staff at the hospital said the slippers could be rung out, so wet. Pressure sores to bottom ungraded as so bad. The staff told the family mother was on antibiotics by the Doctor. Mar sheets were supplied from Summer Lane to A&E, no antibiotics were prescribed. Some of the care staff are great but there is a couple that treat you like a bit of dirt. You have to explain how to put a sling on properly as new staff do not get the training. The management does not care about the resident's well-being as you never see them helping out.

The reception, admin, other staff, most of the carers are all good. However, I feel there is a huge lack of human interaction with the dementia patients on the Waverley Unit. I'm talking about love, holding their hands when they are sitting, talking to them, giving them their time, assuring them, giving them some love, a rub on the arm etc. There are not enough carers and very much an institution rather than the human touch home and the love that is needed. Reviews should be allowed to be shown either good or bad. As of Sunday 27th of November 2016 there has been no heating whatsoever at the care home, the residents are given extra blankets to try to keep warm. Monday night 28th was one of the coldest nights of the year with temperatures dipping below minus 4. The care staff are doing all they can with little that they have to keep residents warm. The home needs a new boiler.
