Since I've been here the staff and counsellors were very nice to me. I learned a lot. The food was great! All the groups were great! This is the best place to be!

More nutritious option for food
Overall, a nice and clean place to detox. Staff was regularly available. Nursing staff seemed great. I was most disappointed by representations that were made to me during my initial call -- where I told the intake person that I wanted detox only (and emphasized that I did not want to hear about residential over and over). I did, in fact hear about residential over and over. The intake nurse told me there was only a three day black out period for phone use, regardless of my level of care. Amanda and Taylor absolutely rock as counselors and where a big help in my recovery overall. Georgina was very helpful in getting me set up with my disability and super quick and efficient.
If you're looking to change your life from drugs or alcohol addiction, I strongly recommend Sunrise House. The staff is outstanding. You get group lessons that will last a lifetime.
The program at Sunrise House is good, it's focused on recovery and not on amenities. The staff really care and are skilled with supporting people through recovery. There is a management problem that sometimes gets in the way of treatment - for example, lack of communication between departments, failure to notify me of an important medical issue after test results came back, sometimes people not seeing a counselor for a week or more.
