Hygienist was nice, but a little aggressive attacking the gums during cleaning. Not too bad though. Overall, pleased with cleaning and care services. As far as providing advice though, research shows that telling patients what they “should” do is not effective. Would be better off discussing barriers to behaviors or methods to improve habits — see brief motivational interviewing.
