My mom did not leave a lot of care, but the two people that they sent were there during lunch and did not bring their own lunch and it was a somewhat odd experience. I have no problem with them, as I know it is a hit or miss getting care givers to gel well with the ones they are caring for, but mom still gets along ok by herself most of the time so we are not presently using their services.

I'm sorry that you felt awkward with our caregivers not having their lunch. Families are certainly not responsible for feeding their caregivers unless it is a live in situation.
I was looking for in-home care for my aunt. A Place for Mom suggested Synergy as it was closest to my aunt's home. A representative met me at the house, answered all of my questions… including some I hadn't thought to ask. The schedule is 4 days on and 3 days off and the 2 caregivers with my aunt are wonderful. My aunt---she has a stroke in early June and can no longer care for herself other than self-feeding---has told me "You found good people to take care of me." They've been great. Everyone has been friendly, and competent. They are a good value, their pricing is fair. I have not had any scheduling issues and have been able to have the same caregivers come out. I chose them over others, because I had the chance to speak with the owner of the company.

I've been very pleased with this service so far. They're great at matching the caregiver they send out to the needs of the family, and the more input you can give them (culture, personality, etc) the better the match will be. The service here is more expensive than others I've used, but they do a good job and I feel like you get what you pay for.

I met with Director and have contracted to have someone come to the house in January. I was very impressed with her professionalism and her friendliness. She put my mother at ease and I am looking forward to working with Synergy.
