DON'T DO IT! We are in our FOURTH year of construction. Our first superintendent promised to have us in our new home by Christmas. I assumed he meant 2020. The house was livable in November of 2021. We started the process to build with TH around April 2021. We waited from Apr-Aug for them to get started. During this time, we were put in a bind because the people selling the land said they could no longer wait for us to purchase. TH refused to get everything together for our loan because they were “too busy”. This meant we were unable to finance our land with the house. Had a home built in 2010 near Mount Olivet, right now we are having a new roof put on, after 2 yrs the inside drywall is cracking and nails coming out, built in microwave face fell off and made a buzzing sound, the gfi breaker in the breaker box kept tripping constantly, gutters were not properly aligned, Goodin air conditioner system went out and had to be replaced, hot water heater had to be replaced, garage door springs broke, alot of other smaller things went wrong with our home 2-7 yrs after it was built. We had a home built in 2019 and finished in Aug 2020. We have issues before moving in and told Superintendent John, all documented on their form, text messages, and emails. Pictures on file, and asked when the list will be done he kept telling us that the floor and cabinet coming away from the wall was just settling and he will get it fixed. My home was built in October 2019. Coming up on 3 years in the home and it is still not under warranty, I have had unresolved issues, especially with the flooring. There are high floor joists in the home under the sub-floor causing my LVDT flooring to buckle and squeak. I paid a lot of money for this flooring that should have been fixed before it was laid down. This company is a joke. They have so many excuses to why nothing gets done. They broke ground in October and I’ve had 3 different supervisors since. The concrete in the garage is cracked and my supervisor, Don, won’t fix it. I was told this house would take 6-8 months to complete but there is no way it will be finished by then. This company tells you everything you wanna hear to get you to sign and then you are screwed. I regret ever signing with them. Don’t waste your time.
It will be a year this June that they started building our house and the work is shoddy..a lot of work that needs to be finished is not done..the house sits for weeks and weeks with no one going out there to work on it..we have 4 pages of items that we found that are wrong in the house and nothing is being done to resolve them..we are now paying for a mortgage of our house that we are not living in..we have had 3 different building supervisors and number 3 has quit..nobody has called us..nobody will give us an answer to our ... read more
Contracted with Taylor in Sep 2018. Sales rep was very helpful with good ideas. Construction phase (7 different superintendents) has numerous serious issues along the way: wrong size window framing, missing window framing, cabinets splotchy finish and doors too big, missing cabinets, wrong color cabinets, cabinets incorrectly installed over the top of laundry hookups, crooked cabinets, squeaky and loose sub flooring, discolored bricks, incomplete attic storage, recessed lights in wrong locations, substandard ceiling texture ... read more
We wish we would have never signed a contract with Taylor Homes. It was the most unpleasant and degrading experience we have ever encountered. This was our 4th home build and Taylor is not a quality custom home builder. They agreed to take our money without having any subcontractors to do the work. Our build was a weekend warrior. We've been through 3 superintendents with a 4th trying to help out. We were forced to close, without the house being completed, because they needed to fulfill a deadline.
