Inconsistent The Boxer wants to be an upscale boutique hotel, but it needs some work to get there. Our experience is best described as inconsistent--some staff were lovely, some downright surly. I learned that there was an exercise room by overhearing a staff person tell another guest--that info was not shared with us at check in and there is no information about amenities in the room. The room was very comfortable. Loved the bathrobe! The staff was very helpful. The restaurant staff warmed my food when I arrived late in the evening. The front desk staff stored my luggage in between my check-out time and actual departure. At check-in, I was told that my reservation included a $20 credit for breakfast in the restaurant. At check-out after breakfast, I was charged a $20 "amenity fee" to cover the "included" breakfast, and a fitness gym that I never set foot in. Overall was a decent experience. Breakfast service was terrible and the staff could of been of been a bit more friendly and hospitable. Didn’t have that usual American can do. Rooms also nice and stylish but a bit tired. Concept is good but a bit rough round the edges.
