I would like so start off by saying the the units themselves are fine. I have had no problems, but that is quickly overshadowed by the management. They make it impossible for you to leave your apartment. They will charge you an arm and a leg to vacate your property if you are unable to find a subleaser. I found someone to take over my lease only for the leasing office to undercut my unit price, so that they were able to rent for cheaper in a new unit. This place was nice but since Preferred Living sold it in June it has been a nightmare. We have had 5 managers in 6 months with no constancy between them and they keep saying that they are getting better or trying their best but it has been nothing but a disappointment. I could justify the astronomical utility bills as high as $275 in the winter when the amenities balanced it out but they no longer do. I would stay from Chelsea Square unless it is your last resort.
The new management really sucks; they are completely arrogant and not willing to do what they are supposed to do. It has been over two months since I moved out and the utilities are still under my name. Do yourself a favor and go half a mile down the road where two new complexes are.
New management is horrible. We have enjoyed living at Chelsea Square up till this point. The level of service and amenities provided as dropped dramatically and yet rent has remained the same. Other residents are just as upset as my husband and I are. The water in the weight room and the beverages in the club house are rarely restocked; the tanning room and computer room are no longer accessible 24/7; front desk personnel are clueless and unhelpful; the keg in the clubhouse and the propane in the grills are always empty; and... read more
RUN AWAY! If you like to pay for hidden fees in an apartment that is already over priced then this is the place for you. I put in my notice to vacate the property and soon after received a letter stating how much I owed through the end of my lease and was shocked when I found out that I was being charged $500 listed under "other fees." This complex believes that it is a REQUIREMENT by law to charge you $500 to clean your carpet and repaint your walls after you move out even if your unit doesn't need cleaning. Just a friendly word of advice: Do not move here! Everything that glitters certainly isn't gold. The electricity is outsourced and charges cannot be confirmed through the meter system. In addition, you will pay for the use of the community lights and the amount of electricity that ALL of your neighbors used. Any complex that can attempt to justify a $200 electricity bill, monthly, for a 780 square foot apartment as commonplace should be out of business. It should never be more than $80 on the HIGH end.
