My husband's parents have lived at The Cottages of Monroe since [date removed] They moved from Mississippi to be closer to family. The Cottages - and Monroe, in general - has been a wonderful place for them to retire. They've made many friends at The Cottages and at their church. I went to see [removed date], last week at the Cottages of Monroe. Her cottage is much bigger than I imagined! It is so cozy and has everything you would want. It even has a garage to store extra stuff and your car. Also it has an Attic. It comes with Living/Dining area. It also has has a “family room” with a 1/2 bath!!!! My in-laws have lived in The Cottages Of Monroe for about 10 years so I am there quite often. We are so pleased that they are in a place where they feel safe and cared for. [removed name] truly cares about the people and works very hard creating an atmosphere of family. Over the past couple years the ladies have allowed me to come and play games with them weekly at the clubhouse. I can truly say that not only do I have family that lives there, but some of my best friends live there too.
To live at The Cottages when a resident is still able to live life with modest requests: lovely accommodations, care for premises, and delightful neighbors. The additional care by an administrator who can care for daily needs and fantastic events weekly as well as a grounds exceptional, make daily living a serene environment.
Our Dad is a current resident and has lived here almost 3 years. It is a very well run and maintained facility. Perfect place for him to be at this time of my life! Our mother recently passed away, and they both lived here. It worked out very well that he is continuing to be able to be with his friends and staff!!

Our parents moved to the cottages a couple of years ago as they found they were unable to care for their home. They worried about leaving their home behind, but discovered when they moved to the cottages that they had found their home away from home. My mother has since passed away and my father continues to live there independently. We chose The Cottages of Monroe because it felt like HOME when we visited. We like our cottage and our neighbors throughout the village. Our director makes sure that there are activities available to us if we chose to participate. This is our HOME and we are thankful for the friends that we have made here. Since moving here we have experienced some health issues that forced us to ask for help. The help was given willingly and lovingly. The Cottages of Monroe is charming and warm. The residents are like family. Everyone looks out for each other. My mom moved there after retirement. The Cottages gave her a social life like no other. The manager treats all of the residents as if they were her parents. It is truly a special place for seniors.
