So loud. Great equipment, nice people. BUT, the music is awful. You can't concentrate or hear your own music. The movie room for treadmill walking is deafening. Also, please ask the staff to stop yelling to each other across the gym.
Don't know why the other review gave it one star. I moved here from a long time membership at UMLY and the weightlifting experience has been night and day. Staff are helpful and friendly, gymgoers have been respectful and happy, and the abundance of equipment and space has been leagues better than the YMCA. I can count on one hand the number of times I've had to wait for equipment to open up even during peak hours. Side note- lots of good cardio equipment open and available as well. I never feel guilty walking incline for ... read more
I own five personal training studios in the area and I think this club is a good choice for the days my clients are not working with our training staff. It's affordable and they have all the equipment you need to get a workout in. Chris Vtrainers personal training
Predatory business practices. My wife tried to cancel back in May because we moved and they're still trying to charge us. Submitted more than enough documentation and they said it wasn't enough. Now they say that (I guess) it WAS enough, so we can cancel....so long as we pay for October and November. Gee, thanks. Worthless response about how transparent their policies are in 3-2-1.....
Business response:
Hi Brian, we would be more than happy to look into this deeper and right anything that is determined to have been wrong. We will need your full name, your wife's full name, and some additional information in order to access your account. Please contact our member experience team at edgecares@theedgefitnessclubs.com. Here is the information on what is required to cancel due to move, when you are still under contract - https://www.theedgefitnessclubs.com/support/how-to-cancel-membership
My issues are due to corporate policies, not the staff of my gym, except maybe the women's locker room. Edge gyms keep the volume of their music (and movies) too high. If you want to listen to something else, be prepared to turn up your ear bud volume to hearing-loss levels. I was told this is corporate policy, which is poor. Their music is dreck, too, so enjoying it isn't an option. No corporate policy on how long someone not actively using a piece of equipment can monopolize it. This means people endlessly scrolling ... read more
Business response:
Thank you for sharing your feedback, we will have our team assess the volume levels and look into the locker room concerns. We do have club policies in place regarding club etiquette, which includes cell phone use. These are posted in club as well as on our website: https://www.theedgefitnessclubs.com/support/edge-club-policies As far as our cancelation policy, we do do try to be very transparent, by detailing out all terms in your membership agreement, so that nothing will not come as a surprise to our members, as well as ... read more
I was advised that gyms located in Pennsylvania cannot charge a 3% surcharge for paying with the credit card. I don't understand why edge fitness in Pennsylvania is charging me a 3% because I'm paying by credit card.. maybe Edge can respond. If I'm incorrect then my amount of stars will go up.
The gym is fine however when I had a family emergency resulting me me moving back to Arizona they have been the worst customer service experience I've had. I've sent in proof of my move multiple times (as per policy to cancel my membership) and I keep getting an automated decline of cancellation. It's so frustrating and absurd I'm paying for a service I have no access to and they block their customers from talk to anyone actually helpful. Ridiculous!!!
Business response:
Hello Jade, we are disappointed to see your review. Please feel free to reach out to us directly at edgecares@theedgefitnessclubs.com with your review, so we may gather more information in order to properly address your concerns.
they love to blast their music. it its so annoying to work out here. even if you listen to your own music with ear buds you hear their music over yours omg. and the music. they play is horrendous do not join !
Business response:
Hi Deb, we are sorry to hear you do not enjoy the music being played. Our clubs do have volume guidelines and a few different music stations to choose from. If you feel the levels are too loud or would like to request a station change, do not hesitate to speak to a manager.
Turf gave me a rash every time I used it. Tried to cancel expecting to pay for an additional month (common practice at gyms), but was informed I signed a year long contract. The individual that assisted me with my membership Informed me that I was, verbatim, NOT signing a year Long contract, and that I could cancel and pay one additional months dues. The general manager was not willing to compromise when I spoke to this at time of cancellation, and I was on the hook for the remaining 9 months of the year.
Business response:
Hello John, we are sorry to hear your frustration. Although cannot change our cancel policies, we do try to make it clear by detailing out all terms in your membership agreement, so that it will not come as a surprise to our members. We also offer a cancel window upon signing the agreement, if the terms are not a good fit for you. Please feel free to reach out to us directly at edgecares@theedgefitnessclubs.com if you wish for us to look into your account and address any questions you may have.
