It would have been fine for someone that doesn't have behavior concerns. My husband was combative so it wasn't a good fit for us. The activities were pretty much the same everyday. Exercise videos for hours in the morning. All the residents just sat there and stared at the TV. There were a few other things thrown in but not much. I know there was a big turnover after we left so it may be different now.

Business response:

Hello, Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet your expectations, particularly regarding activities and the environment for residents with behavioral needs. We appreciate your insights about the activities program and are actively working to diversify our offerings. We're also committed to improving team member consistency to enhance the resident experience. Your input is invaluable as we strive to improve our community. Jane Atobajeun, Executive Director

We recently moved my mother from The Pavilion. On the day we moved her out, we discovered 3 pair of her pants (new within the past 8 months) were missing. The director for the Pavilion said they would look, then told me they would reimburse (I have the receipts.), then told me since Mom no longer had an account they would figure out how to reimburse, and then I was told they could not reimburse because the receipts were from 2022. During the 17 months my mother was in Valeo (Memory Care), they went through 4 directors and we... read more

This community was nice and beautiful. The sales representative was energetic and friendly but the unit was small and not the size of what we needed for my loved one. I also felt like the care was spread thin and did not feel comfortable leaving my loved one here because I didn't feel like he would get the care he needed. Everyone just seemed stretched too thin.

The staff are hard to reach to check on our loved one. It took a while for us to set up payment the way we wanted to pay. When we visited recently it was hard to find the management team. The food is really good. There is a full activity calendar for the residents to take advantage of.

The Pavilion at Great Hills in Austin, TX is a very clean, pleasant facility with friendly workers and a fairly responsive senior staff. Some of the problems my family has had with the facility can partly be attributed to my mother's dementia and her inability to keep track of any items or remember what is scheduled, etc. So, we have had just one major issue in the three months she has lived there. We had a problem with her medication administration when the medication aide placed her medicine in her apartment for her to ta... read more

I was going to add to my previous review, but apparently you have to sign up to read all of the comments...another red flag in my book. Anyway, my MIL has been out of there for at least a month. She received a check from the federal government which had been opened by the facility and then put in an envelope with their return address and nothing else but the check in the envelope. Not sure why they felt if was appropriate to open her mail but that is [Removed].

My mother has been a resident at this facility and finally after multiple issues we are moving her to a safe environment. First, you need to know that being in Pavilion assisted care does not mean that your loved one will be checked on, regularly. My mother laid on the floor all night until 11:00 am the next morning without any staff checking into her room. She was non-responsive and taken by EMS to the hospital. The best I can tell the staff ratio is 1:15-20 residents. They are always willing to up your care for a fee but g... read more

My parents had an unwanted guest forcibly staying with them for 2 months and the staff did not notice! That is unacceptable. Apparently they don't have security cameras which is also alarming. I called repeatedly to ensure that situation was taken care and no call back. DO NOT PUT your loved ones in this facility. It's terrible and we will be looking elsewhere to house my parents.

Business response:

Thank you for your feedback. We do take the security of our campus very seriously. In this case, we have been in touch with the resident’s family/power of attorney and appreciate your concern as a visitor to the community. We take not only the security of our residents serious, but also the resident right to have visitors, especially their children visiting. I would ask that if you have any further concerns or questions regarding our policies and procedures to please reach out to our community or our corporate office to inqu... read more

The community was nice when i moved my parents in a few years ago. Now there's a new director [name removed] who is extremely rude. My parents are not happy with the way they're being treated. I was also told that the food is not good either. The kitchen chef [name removed] i have met. She doesn't carry herself in a professional manner and she's rude. However, some of the caregivers are caring and kind. I feel that another place would better suit my parents. Or the pavilion should invest more time into finding professional s... read more
