I would strongly advise do your research before going here for ptsd/trauma. The website is very deceiving. Best day after only 4 nights was when they opened the gate and I flew out of there, broke down crying for believing and trusting this place would be great after driving.2000 miles. It only added to the trauma I already had.

They lie about your insurance and claim they aren’t going to cover you or drop you to outpatient so you have to pay $3k out of pocket. Before you do that make sure you contact your insurance prior authorization department. They’ve had amazing people and therapist work for them, that they fire over politics or false allegations with NO investigation. Yet if a client has those same allegations they keep them on property while “investigating” and allowing them to speak to other clients. Take your money elsewhere!

I would never never recommend this dang place. They lie. I am from Oklahoma and they said they would find me a closer faculty back on Oklahoma I have the voicemail and she is now denying it. They took $250 to use my own medicine. This place is worthless!!!! I will be speaking to my attorney when I return home!!!

Fun facts! The ONLY therapists with Florida licenses are Kristen Smith and Diana Lebrun. Shelley Beaurline has no Florida license according to the MQA website. Michael Richard is has an INTERN license. William Beagan license has expired. Holly Harris has no license. Brittney Ellzey has an INTERN license. Laurel Swann has no license. Lauren Gulla has an INTERN license. John Brandner has no license. For $752 per day, I expected fully licensed professionals, not to be the beta testing victim for interns. Save your money and y... read more

I highly advise against using this facility. They let patients attempt suicide and self harm without getting them help from a therapist. Isn’t that what this facility should be providing? They had us sitting on the floor during Covid protocols, after taking away all the chairs and tables with no explanation. Case management failed to do they help they promised with getting me into an IOP program back home, which caused me to go several weeks without aftercare due to the wait list.

My relative recently returned from the Refuge. This is her review: I spent 3 weeks at The Refuge. I left March 24. This will be a long review. I want to give you the rundown of what direction this place is currently taking, so you're better informed with your decision making. Then I will share my personal experience. The advertised program online, and the schedule I received once I arrived, is not what the actual daily schedule ended up being. Almost every single day, (every day of my last 2 weeks there, the first week, so... read more

Horrible place. My son was/is addicted to Adderall and after the facility found this out hey continued to give him Adderall. They released him, after I said I would not pay anymore, with a one way ticket back to his home with not transition plan, no sponsor. Basically they put him back on the street. DO Not use this place!!!
