They have caring staff, and it's an excellent facility. We picked this community, because it was close to my home, it had space for my mother when we needed a space, and it looked like a good place to be. The interaction/communication with the staff has been very good.
I came to Quarry Hill from the UVM Medical Center. I was there because I broke my hip; it healed nicely but I needed medical assistance, primarily physical and occupational therapy. For two months, every day, I was helped by three physical therapists. These young professional women, who knew their stuff, gently but firmly rehabilitated. In ten weeks, I recovered strength in my hip, moving from a wheelchair to a walker until, at the end of rehab, using a cane. The experience has been okay. The community is expensive, but it is okay. The staff communication is good if the family has questions or concerns. The memory care is a separate entrance and family has to wait up to 10 minutes to get into the area to see our loved one and be admitted by a staff. The food could use more variety for the residents to choose from. There are three meals being served to the resident a day.
The Residence at Quarry Hill are very friendly. My mom likes it there, she loves the people and thinks they're very friendly. They are short-handed, but they make one heck of an effort. The staff are excellent and I'm amazed by how good they are. She has gotten so much better since she's been there. It has been an excellent experience so far. The Residence at Quarry Hill is a great place. I'm really glad we found a spot for her there. They've been very friendly and accommodating and seem to take good care of my mother. They do what they can for activities in memory care and go on trips. It's expensive, but it's just what we were looking for. All around it's been a very good move.
The location for this community was too far away for what my loved one wanted. Also the environment that she was used to would have changed due to this communities surroundings.
Our family had an in person tour and the people we met with were all very nice, the building itself is newer but it did not have a super big courtyard and another community did which is why we ended up not choosing The Residence.
We are still settling in so we haven't been able to really take advantage of the activities, but it does seem like they have a wide range of things going on. The first impression we got from The Residence is that it was light and airy.
The marketing director does a fantastic job, and the staff is very friendly. The community is kept very clean and they have lots of activities for the residence to participate in. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.
