What a waste of time and money. The train went about 2 or 3 miles, stopped at a platform for 15 min then back to the station in Ft Bragg. Not worth it at all. On top of it all half of my family couldn’t make it due to an emergency so we asked for a refund and they refused. They gave us a gift card that is good for when ever. As if we will tell our family to make a special trip for a horrible experience. I guess I’m out the money because they won’t budge on their policy. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!
We rode the train before and had so much fun I understand the bridge is out but it is overpriced for what you get. Until the bridge is fixed and you get what you pay for I would not go again.
Way overpriced for a 1 hour round trip ride. No very scenic. Perhaps it may improve if and when the collapsed tunnel is reopened
We booked our Skink Train ride a month in advance and specifically selected the itinerary that has a 45 minute break because I was told that we could bring a picnic lunch and eat it at the half way point. We arrived at our scheduled time, boarded with our two grandkids, ages 3 and 10, and departed. Soon after departure it was announced that there would only be a 15 minute break. I immediately inquired as did at least two other parties and were told there was nothing we could do. Apparently a later train had been added withou... read more
I have been wanting to ride this train for decades, my parents rode on it, took pictures going across a bridge, and threw a tunnel. But there was a mud slide and could not go that far. I had better scenery on the 128 of the redwoods and the ferns. They are making a path along the tracks, that has garbage and wilted and dead greenery pushed to the side. Where we stopped they are building some kind of eatery. For $50 each I was disappointed that the views didn’t even come close to what was advertised. I am not going to drive 4... read more
Train has the speed of a snail. It was for $80,-- a rip deal. Totally overpriced ride. Just 30 minutes through the park and back the same ride. Not in line with my expectations.
15 years ago I had a wonderful experience on the Fort Bragg Skunk Train. Shame on me for not doing my homework when I booked my Husband and I last week. The slow and short ride barely left town before it stopped & reversed direction with an explanation there was a landslide before we entered the Redwoods. Do yourself a favor - for $7 more drive to Willits and get the 2-hour 5 star experience I remember
Was very disappointed. I would not recommend spending your money on this hour ride.
It was fun, brief and I wish it had been longer.
