So this just happened… My sweet kitty Kashi has been sick for the last few days and getting worse. I had to make the decision to take her in to the vet.
As I am diligently staying at home except for walks outside with at least 10 feet away from others on the sidewalk, I was a bit nervous about going into the vets office with an abundance of people around, potentially putting myself at risk.
Thankfully when I called ahead to make the appointment, they had already put protocol in place to handle pets & fur baby parents amidst this Covid-19 crisis. Everything was handled seamlessly so that I never had to leave my car.
When I arrived for my appointment I called them from the parking lot and unlocked my doors.
The vet tech came out, with face mask and gloves on, opened the passenger back seat door, picked up my cat carrier with Kashi safely inside & took her in for her examination with the doctor.
During the examination the doctor called me to discuss the issues that were going on with Kashi. I gave her the go ahead for what needed to be done today, in preparation for her surgery next week.
I was then transferred over to the front desk where they made my next appointment & took my credit card payment over the phone.
The vet tech brought Kashi in carrier out to my car, safely and securely- while comfortably distanced.
All this from the drivers seat of my car.
This is our new “norm” for now, and I’m embracing it.
My deepest and heartfelt Thanks to TLC Animal Hospital for their foresight in navigating these new health standards with such prompt action, giving us a sense of comfort and protection- all the while doing it with such professionalism, compassion and care. You all are wonderful. ❤️
