Hi-yield Toner cartridge I've been using product for a few weeks now as I write this. It has performed flawlessly. Here is a tip if your current printer/cartridge is reporting out of toner condition. Remove cartridge. On right side look for a small window (may be circular). Cover window with a little masking tape. Re-install cartridge. Toner error will disappear. I was sent the wrong Toner I was sent the wrong toner. The carton says TN360, when I opened the carton the toner that was sent is TN460. I had to send the toner back (requested for refund for TN360).
High Yield Toner Cartridge I've had many printers and toner cartridges. The Brother TN360 Cartridge for the Brother MFC 7840W is the easiest one I've ever installed. Kudos to the designer!
OEM version and How to Extend Toner Life Before I ordered this item, I called to make sure that it was an OEM vs. generic version. I placed the order on 1/26/09 and the item was delivered on 1/31/09. Although I haven't opened the package, the box indicates that it's an OEM from Brother. So, perhaps Amazon has corrected the problem. Brother Laser Toner Cartridge New Brother printer, like all the brands today, is equipped with only a "Starter" cartridge, very limited in the number of pages it will print before failing. This high capacity replacement, when installed should provide many months of service, and can be replenished using replacement toner kits, fortunately available through Amazon.
How many pages The details published by Amazon stated a page output for the Brother TN-360 "High Yield" toner cartirdge at 2,600 pages. The package arrived quickly, but the Brother box states :Approx. 1,500 pages". Why the difference?
Paper Jams I keep getting paper jams after I changed to this toner. Awful! I can't print a single page out of this toner.
Not always OEM I have purchased two of these from Amazon. The price is great plus free shipping. The first was genuine Brother and yielded 2471 copies at mostly 600 DPI. The second which I just installed was a "no-name". It didn't register as a new cartridge at first, I took it out and reinstalled twice before it accepted. I could have purchased a "no name" on Ebay for less. Amazon should describe this accurately.
Should print approximately 2,600 pages... does it? I have just ordered the Brother MFC 7840 printer and have been reading about the toner refills. The manual says the hi yield TN-360 (OEM) will print approximately 2,600 pages! It appears the starter toner that comes with the new printer will print about 700 pages. The low yield prints about 1500 pages. This product is not OEM... but appears people are satisfied... are you sure you are getting the recommended pages?
