A few points: 1) I was told multiple times by Tom and Jamie that there really isn’t an issue with appraisal gaps in the Bay Area. But lo and behold, I ended up with a $150,000 appraisal gap. I strongly disagree with the appraiser’s valuation and question his capabilities. 2) The loan wasn’t delivered on time. First of all who is James in this survey? We did not work with anyone named James that I can tell you about. We have bought many houses. The work with this lender was the most unorganized that I have ever experienced. Issues like not finding a water heater strap delaying funding is completely unacceptable. A heads up that even if we paid 3X + the price for appraisal we still would not be able to close on time would have been great to know up front so we could have worked that timing more aggressively.
