A few points: 1) I was told multiple times by Tom and Jamie that there really isn’t an issue with appraisal gaps in the Bay Area. But lo and behold, I ended up with a $150,000 appraisal gap. I strongly disagree with the appraiser’s valuation and question his capabilities. 2) The loan wasn’t delivered on time. First of all who is James in this survey? We did not work with anyone named James that I can tell you about. We have bought many houses. The work with this lender was the most unorganized that I have ever experienced. Issues like not finding a water heater strap delaying funding is completely unacceptable. A heads up that even if we paid 3X + the price for appraisal we still would not be able to close on time would have been great to know up front so we could have worked that timing more aggressively. -We were asked for the same information multiple times. -The file upload system does not allow the user to verify files have been uploaded or to view what files have been uploaded. Even though Tom Parke got us good rates and was creative in splitting up our loans to qualify us for our new home purchase, the communication overall was terrible. Customer service was lacking and his team operated under the assumption that we are mortgage/lender experts. They send us forms to sign without any explanation and expect us to complete ASAP, but when we need something from the team, we would have to chase the down.

The overall transaction and process could have been made easier on my wife and I with a few items. - kickoff / overview discussion, total items required and event timeline. We had provided all details requested in initial email only to find out there was more info that we were pressured to produce asap. During our normal busy working schedules this added unneeded stress and confusion.
