I have eaten here innumerable times over the years and as recently as a few months ago, so I was extremely disappointed to see that the delicious food I had always been served drastically changed. There must be a new chef as the food was simply not up to par. The Zucchini Parm I used to love tasted chalky (perhaps low-grade or powdery Parmesan cheese or flour?), the bolognese was not very good and the once fabulous fried artichokes were bad. The staff was very attentive. Our server, Jay, was friendly, professional, and very accommodating. The food was great, especially since we finished off the meal with a slice of the amazing Strawberry Meringue cake and my favorite Amaro. The convenient location near Carnegie Hall was perfect, pre-performance.
I’ve eaten here many times over the past 30 years and always enjoy it.
