Food was ok, but not exceptional. Same with service. Extremely noisy at first but then quieter,
Ambience now feels more like a cafeteria, food mediocre and drink prices exorbitant $20 cocktails and 3-4x wine bottle price mark up. Service however was excellent and it remains so convenient to Carnegie Hall
The food here is always excellent! My chicken paillard was perfect. And, the tiramisu is fantastic! Also, a great selection of wines.
We love Trattoria dell Arte and always try have dinner there before going to Carnegie Hall across the street. Last night we arrived 15 minutes late for our reservation and the concert rush was at full moon high tide! So we perched ourselves in front of the exquisite antipasto until we were saved by a knight in shining armor, the handsome and wise waiter Jean! Great service, great food. A must stop when in NYC!
Everything was good except for our seating arrangement. We had an early pre-theater reservation with party of 5 but were seated at a table for 4. The dining room was particularly empty when we arrived and it was absolutely unnecessary to give us such a small table. Had been dining at this restaurant for over 12 years and it was my to go restaurant before attending event at Carnegie Hall. Sadly I will be looking at new restaurant to dine for future Carnegie Hall events.
I have been here before and it is always a winner! Enjoy it!

I attended a show nearby at the NYC Center and came across this restaurant on Google maps. I made reservations but that was unnecessary as there are plenty of tables! I appreciated that they didn’t have music playing and could have a great conversation with my companion Overall fantastic service - the food was served promptly and was delicious.
