Late dinner. Not a great table. Last minute reservation. Food good. Wine good but overpriced. Bread stale. Lot’s of energy.
Excellent service and delicious Italian food. We were seeing a show at 8 and had plenty of time to enjoy dinner and cannolis with espresso. Lasagna was incredible! The Bellini was perfect. Although the seating was a little tight, still a wonderful venue for dinner before a show.

It’s always risky to compare restaurant experiences when the intervals between visits are lengthy. In this instance, Trattoria did not fare well between ours. Service was brusque and perfunctory. The dishes (both pasta entrees and osso bucco) have been historically above average but fell well below acceptable standards this occasion. Overall, this evening’s return to TdA was memorable but for all the wrong reasons.
The cuisine at Trattoria Dell'Arte is authentically Italian. The experience is excellent; I have twice eaten there and have been impressed both times. Across from Carnegie Hall near Central Park, the restaurant is also perfectly located.
Michael was our waiter who provided excellent service in delivering delicious food to our table. He was very friendly and accommodating. We look forward to a return visit.
This is a neighborhood favorite and I bring guests every two months or so. Always welcoming. As usual, we were seated immediately and served promptly. I had my favorites, Little Gem Caesar and Lobster Carbonara. One guest had a lasagna that looked to die for. Two had the famous Pizza.
