Four of us went after a concert at Carnegie Hall and we’re very disappointed at the exorbitant prices. We ordered 1 pizza, which was very good, and had it not the prices not been so high, we’d have ordered more. The wine too, was good but very expensive. I live in New York and have for many years but won’t go there again.
Food was very good and tasty. It was really busy so the service took some time to take our order. Very good, in general...
We went to Trattoria before going to a show and were a bit disappointed. Part of our disappointment might be that we had ordered chicken piccata and chicken parmigiana. The piccata had too much breading which my wife kept scrapping off. Thechicken parmigiana was not as bad but they were brought out a bit differently then what we are used to as they came out formed as a pizza. The atmosphere was very nice and the bartender was great.
My favorite restaurant in NYC for overall food, service and atmosphere
We’ve been coming here for 20 years and Trattoria del’arte remains fresh and vibrant. Staff is awesome, has fun and food is terrific. Antipasto bar seating is the best view in NYC. If gong to theatre or in Carnegie Hall area, you can’t beat it!
The caprese salad, the veal parmigiana were fantastic! The bartender was wonderful and welcoming and our waiter Joe was very outgoing and helpful. Also try the lemon cake, was amazing! Definitely a place to go back to. My only complaint was our seating location, near the host..diners waiting to be seated or saying their goodbyes after dinner would congregate right against our table, I actually had to ask one to move as her back was practically in the booth with me.
This was my 2nd dining experience here. I love the antipasto bar, fantastic! It’s the reason I love this place. The food on the menu is good, too. I’m off gluten and had the GF pasta. I didn’t like the one they serve. They could do better. I’ve had many that were good but not this one. Everything else was good.
Team holiday party
It’s always a fun lively place to go, however twice I have been there during this holiday season and the reservation check in process is ridiculously cumbersome. A long line of people both with and without reservations all have to stand in the same long line to wait to give their name. You can get there on time for your reservation and still be late to the podium. Meanwhile it’s not pleasant for the diners who are in the area where the line is as they have all strangers standing bumping up against their tables.
