We arrived 15 minutes early to our reserved time of 7:30 p.m. The maitre'd treated us like we were a nuisance. Rather than invite us cordially to sit at the bar to wait for our assigned booth, he rushed us onto an available table-- which was very small, in the main corridor, and which was passed frequently by many waiters and busboys. OK, who would have guessed that a restaurant in the middle of the Carnegie Hall area, adjacent to the theater district and Central Park, which clearly attracts the tourist crowd, would present spactaculary great, traditional Italian food served by first class waiters? I am always worried eating at restaurants near a tourist attraction, but Trattoria dell’Arte was excellent in every way. The service was outstanding (our waiter added a few items to our appetizer without charge), the food was top quality and tasted great, and the location was fantastic for seeing a concert at Carnehie Hall. I recommend this wholeheartedly.
Best Italian food in Manhattan, a must visit for the great food, atmosphere, and excellent service
Party of four...we had chicken prepare 2 ways, Italian style and Parmesan style with pepperoni, salmon with lentils, and the most incredible Bolognese lasagna I’ve ever had. Just delicious!
