Went with a party of 5 after a Carnegie Hall Sunday matinee. The waitress was with us right away...members of our group (not me!) ALWAYS over-think their menu selections, but the waitress helped them along. The choices we made were universally solid...plan to order more group appetizers next time...the fried artichokes were terrific. It was about 5 degrees too cold for outdoor seating...will always consider in warmer weather.
Proximity to Carnegie Hall made it a bit of a mob scene before concert -- I had a reservation, but will now know to request certain room. Upstairs was a bit quieter than main floor - sitting down there would be a runway experience!
Good Italian food across the street from Carnegie Hall. The prices are decent for New York City and the preparation of the food met expectations. However, the cost of the wine was a bit higher than I would have liked. In all, we'd eat there again.
Love, love, love this place. All 8 of us at dinner were really happy with everything. The fried artichokes appetizer is one of my favorite dishes ever. All pizzas, pastas, fish, antipasto selections -- everything is top notch. Never had a bad experience and I've been eating here regularly for many, many years.
Great food, awesome atmosphere, outstanding service. Always a perfect spot.
Good food, fast service, but prices were steep ($9.00 for a bottle of beer). I was surprised when the server offered grated Parmesan cheese on my seafood risotto -- no restaurant in Italy would ever allow cheese on seafood.
I absolutely LOVE their Veal Chop Parmesan. Best one in NYC!
Great traditional Italian fare at affordable prices, good choice for families or just for a meal.
This Trattoria, one of the first in Manhattan, has lost its gastronomic allure. The menu is greatly diminished. Why can't they offer the thin crust pizza during prime dinner time?
