Always stay in midtown manhattan and usually go downtown to get great italian food but this was an exceptional choice right near my hotel... Great food, great service... Very happy with overall experience

I have been here many times in the past but no for a few years. The food is not as good as I remembered it to be. The service was awful. Plenty of waiters and busboys hustling around but paying much more attention to the many larger groups around us (we just two).

We were looking for a restaurant on the West side for our group of 6. Three of the people in our group were visiting from Israel and needed food that was not necessarily kosher, but where they could have fish or a vegetarian dish. A friend warned me that the restaurant could be quite noisy, so I called ahead and requested a quiet table. We were not disappointed. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered and we all tried different things. Everything was fresh and tasty. I thought that the wine list was rather over-priced. Other than... read more

Try the veal chop parmesean - it is the best I have ever had! The antipasto bar is also excellent. The service is very professional, friendly and helpful. The ambience is chic, but understated - with sculpted body parts hanging from the walls throughout. This place is a gem in the Carnegie Hall area so its great for pre/post-theater.

This was my 2nd time at Trattoria Dell'Arte and I have been impressed both times. Trattoria is everything you want out of a bustling classic Italian Restaurant... you know, the kind with white table clothes. The menu options are what you'd expect to find, with fun little flares... chicken parm with pepperoni. Brick Oven Pizza with seafood. And so on. All of it is delicious. I don't think I'd call this place trendy. And the atmosphere is more family and group friendly than that of a quiet bistro... but Big wine list. Generous... read more

Place is great! Started with a warm welcome from the host staff. Server was maybe a little miffed that they sat 3 at a 6 top (we were expecting 2-4 more later that evening), because he seemed uninterested in our service. When a waiter says "no problem, pal", he's obviously not pleased that you're at his table. Waiter forgot to bring us our wine, and when the wine steward happen to bring out the apps, he must have reminded the server to send it out. Server may have gotten a pep talk from someone, because he was golden from th... read more

This is a great restaurant with great food, service and ambience. Never have had a bad time. Everyone, whether you're a regular or not is treated with the same professionalism.

We went to the restaurant prior to attending a dance recital at Alvin Alley. The restaurant was very accommodating getting us in and served in a timely manner. My meal was very good. However, we had a little problem with my wife's meal. When they tried to accommodate her food request to deal with a milk allergy, the veal they served was a little dry and we had to request some additional sauce which took some time to get.

We ate at this restaurant before and had a great meal and a terrific waiter so we couldn't wait to return. Unfortunately, the experience was totally different this time. We were seated up in the back and away from the fun buzz of the restautant. Our waiter was never available. To top it off, everyone else seemed to get a complimentary glass of champagne but us. Will still go back - just hope it is like the first time. If it is like this time, we would never return
