4K comes to your living room at an affordable price
This was a Cyber Monday purchase for me, thanks to the fact that my trusty 43" 1080i *yup, i not p) plasma just isn't cutting it anymore. That old faithful lasted for the best part of a decade, but with 4K Ultra here, I really wanted to upgrade. To be clear, in order to play 4K discs, I also had to invest in a 4K player and a suitable HDMI cable, which added another $300 to the price tag, but it was money well spent. The image is incredibly clear; when watching "The Martian" in 4K, it seems as if every single grain of sand is visible to the eye. I'll be purchasing as many future discs in 4K as I can.
The TV itself worked perfectly out of the box. It was easy to attach to its stand and connect up, being significantly lighter than my last TV. There are plenty of HDMI connectors, although be aware that only two of them (#2 and #3) will accept 4K input, which is more than sufficient. Setup was painless, taking less than twenty minutes until the device was up and running. Blu Rays and 1080p Netflix/Amazon streaming movies and TV shows are clear and crisp, making the TV a joy to watch. The remote is simple and intuitive, and controls my Blu Ray player should I choose to do so.
If This TV has a weakness, it is probably the speakers. They're by no means bad, but they're also a little on the tinny side. A surround sound setup will be my next purchase, to redress that issue.
I have no hesitation at recommending this unit.
