The apartment above ours sprung a leak somewhere and ended up dripping down into our apartment causing damage in our bathroom, hallway, master bed and bath. Universal Insurance offered to cover $1300 after our deductable. UCS helped us recover $21000 which afforded us reconstruction
It never occured to us that our insurance company, the one who we pay money to each money for that 'peace of mind', could and would become our rival in a damage claim to our personal home.
