I was referred to Dr. Graham by a satisfied client in 2001 when a prior dental repair came to its end. At the time, I was a fairly new to town "regular" at a different dentist's office, but was not sure whom to trust with replacing a front tooth. Since then, the University Dental Professionals office is my regular dentist for cleanings and repairs. After years without insurance, I have needed multiple repairs, and some of them have been unusual, needing extra consideration and effort. I have experienced a DECADE of absolute... read more
I am very pleased with this dentist. I am from Europe and have generally found American dentists to be quite substandard, but am now glad to have found this office. Their technology is much better than what I have seen in other offices (digital x-rays, for example). My doctor's name is Dr. Vacendak, and she is absolutely great. She also sees my three children and has been great for them as well. The reason why I gave the office four rather than five stars is that they make you pay any bill yourself and then have the insur... read more
Service was decent . However the Dr., who was an oral surgeon tried to talk me into a more expensive procedure . I was about to leave when he relented to a less expensive one. Now as for billing , $175 for an X-ray , and a second consultation fee of $200 was added to my bill , while I was having the procedure done . And I was referred by the dentist at Komed- Holman health center . If I ever need work done again , it won't be with them !!!
I was very disappointed by the lack of administrative support. My dental services were apparently OK, but University Dental Professions failed to submit the paperwork to the insurance company. After my visit to find out what the problem is, the response was vague. After nearly 9 months after the first visit, I received payment from my insurance company for a fraction of what I paid. My previous dentist was so upfront and disciplined compared to UDP. I am reluctant to go back to UDP.
My husband and I started going to University Dental Professionals when we moved to Chicago last year. The staff are friendly and professional, and we really liked the dentist and hygienist. Unfortunately however, we will not be returning due to their policy of payment of front, and waiting to be reimbursed by your insurance company later. Though we were uncomfortable with this, the first couple of visits went fine as their staff assisted us with filing for reimbursement through out insurance company. After our last visit... read more
Hello, we think we experienced dishonesty (or even fraud, if I can define this way) at the University Dental Professionals (5549 South Cornell Avenue, Chicago, IL 60637). And here is what happened: My husband I received dental services at the University Dental Professionals on 06-30-20, for the common checking and cleaning. We moved to Chicago recently, and both of us were first-time customers at the University Dental Professionals. We were not experts at digesting the dental insurance we had, so before making the dental ... read more
All the staff are friendly and professional. They have all of the latest dental tools and appear to care a lot about providing high-quality dental care. That said, I was told that I needed to get seven fillings. I got a second opinion from my step-mother's brother, a retired dentist. He said that I probably only needed one. If you care about cost and want a dentist that recommends procedures only when necessary, I would not come here.
I recently saw Dr. Levy for some fillings she had treatment planned for me. I was less than pleased when she started the work and then said one of them needed a crown instead. Of course the price shot way up. I'm not understanding how she could not have determined this with my prior exam and x-ray. I was also not impressed with her unprofessional appearance and what I consider to be rude behavior towards me as a patient. She appeared "messy" looking wearing a sweatshirt with some sort of stains on it. It honestly looked like... read more
I had a tooth that was cracked under a filling. Dr. Vacendak tried fixing it by drilling away the cracked part and re-filling the cavity. I went back 6 weeks later because the tooth was still painful in a tiny area. When she couldn't find the precise location, her response was to act incredulous, like I was wrong about my own teeth (her chair-side manner is terrible). Then she scheduled me for a crown even though she never pinpointed the problem. I went out in search of a second opinion. My new dentist took an X-ray and ide... read more
