If I could give this company 0 stars, I absolutely would.
My daughter is renting a bug infested apartment for $900 a month. The air conditioner leaks when it rains and the maintenance man told her to quit calling she should be happy he has fixed what he fixed. I paid $500 for my daughter to park across the street behind another building instead of her own complex. We were told there was no building there only a parking lot. As a parent I am appalled and furious at the service provided by this company. I have called, my husband has called and my daughter has emailed to no avail.
If you were to ask me my thoughts about uptown 2 months ago I would have raved about them. Apartments were clean at move in. The people working the phones were pleasant and very responsive to any maintenance requests. I rented from them for 5 years at 3 different locations..recently moved out of Tarpis Woods in Hyde Park .. Loved the apartment and the location. HOWEVER .. My roommate and I moved out June 30 2016. I moved in to my place and when I first walked in it smelled like dog urine. Then the ground was FILTHY. covered in dust, dry wall, paint, and dirt. There were random sharp nails all over the ground that someone really could have been hurt on. There were fruit flies EVERYWHERE. no one did anything about it. They kept saying someone was coming over but then when I would call back they would tell me that the job was posted as "complete" when they never did. I've heard from several friends now that they treat most clients unfairly. Have been caught lying on several occasions, and are especially rude to young adults. Look elsewhere
I hate living here. I moved in about 6 or 7 months ago. And in that short time my roommate and I have witnessed too much. The second floor attendant got robbed, someone stole everything out of his apartment. Then they got security alarms for the door so if you keep the door open too long it just beeps loudly. The new second floor attendants leave their trash out and it stinks up the whole floor. The water has been turned off 11 times since I've been here for emergency repair.
