My experience at Van Matre has been exceptional. If I could give it 10 stars, I would. The nurses and aides were very helpful and knowledgeable. The therapists were amazing! When the Assistant Administrator asked me how my experience was I couldn't say enough nice things and I told her that my PT and OT deserved raises! My PT did me the biggest favor by postponing my discharge date a few days so I could practice my skills more. I was disappointed at first, but afterward I'm glad I stayed. I can not tell you enough good things about ALL the staff at Van Matre. I especially want to mention Kamil, who was my fathers PT after a stroke. Kamil was incredible. He was kind and caring, he pushed my Dad when he needed to. Kamil was patient and understanding. Even though there was restrictions due to COVID I was able to see my Dad and he was well taken care of. The nurses were prompt and caring. Even when they didn't give us answers right away the staff would update us and let us know they were working getting ... read more

My girlfriends cousin and a great friend of mine is here and was walking today after being transferred to this location as of 330 from his hospital and is already walking with the help of the staff. Haven't met his caretaker yet but from videos and him talking to me threw text I can tell he is in good hands

Strange place. They all have the same tone of voice, I was soon annoyed by the patronizing "OK" (which sounded more like "not ok). PT and OT are PUSHY. NO MATTER HOW PHYSICALLY ILL YOU ARE! I was shocked to attend a PT course on Safety how not to Fall, where an elderly gentleman who had clearly soiled himself (the smell was unbearable from 2 seats over) and he was left in his mess FOR THE ENTIRE PT COURSE!!! You wouldn't treat an animal this way! Terrible! Be careful sending elderly who can't speak up for themselves! For m... read more

I understand everyone needs to have a job, but have a back up job if you plan on working here. When you get hired they will promise you things and not follow through. I was hired to do the weekend program. I was told during classroom orientation that I would have punch as (R2), once I get on the floor. Two weeks into me being on the floor, I get an email that I dont get (R2) because I'm "on orientation ". Their orientation is a joke at best. Thank goodness I'm came in as an experienced Nurse.
