There was a little bit of a wait for our table but it was worth it!! Great food and exceptional service.
Invited my parents here for birthday. The service and food was excellent. The decor was cozy and relaxed, the ambiance lively and pleasant; a very relaxed atmosphere -- has an upscale, hole-in-the-wall feel, old world flair. The steak sirloin steak was perfect but a little on the pricey side. The free parking attached to the building is ideal and I like the large patio out back. Great patio- service was excellent!
We rarely eat anywhere that is as expensive as WA Frost but we can honestly say "It was worth it!" We were fortunate to choose a beautiful day to eat on their lovely patio. Food and service-perfect. Tables spaced to feel private. Only one complaint — the only women's restroom required taking stairs to and from their basement. If there is another option, we couldn't find it.
We had to bale on the patio because of the weather but had a wonderful dining experience inside. Our waitress was attentive at just the right level- left us to chat, checked in just enough as we enjoyed an evening of slow food and good conversation.
What is better than eating outdoors in a lovely garden during a Minnesota summer night?!? Perfect, right? And the food was delicious and waitperson charming and appropriately responsive but did not rush us.
I placed reservations 3 weeks in advance for 10 people for brunch. While the table was ready for us and it was a great spot, the service was extremely slow. The food choices for brunch are average, and I was not particularly impressed with the overall experience. WA Frost has always been a St Paul classic, and it feels like they need to step up their game.
We brought my mother-in-law for her birthday as a treat. The food was outstanding but the service was subpar. The server was more interested in the few tables around us (perhaps because we were a table of 3 women he assumed we wouldn't offer as much $?). He failed to even mention the specials. Excellent, Very goos service, Excellent cocktails, Food was very refined and flavorful. After dinner in the massive patio was an outstanding finish to the evening.
