I brought friends into the city. We loved the luncheon. Our server made the luncheon fun. We will return.
They are selling an old, elegant Saint Paul. They do ok at that, but don't go for the food; nothing very creative, and no real effort at presentation. One exception: a reasonable selection of vegetarian options.
I used to like WA but not this time. Way too noisy in the (foyer?) Square Table too small for 3 people as your plates are huge and with so many of them and all the glassware, etc., way too crowded!! And where's the tablecloths? I googled restaurants with tablecloths! That would cut down on some of the noise, ya know. I was there to visit with school pals I hadn't seen in years and we couldn't hear each other at times. And it was too dark! We adored the patio at W.A. Frost. The food was delicious (bottle of cab, spinach/artichoke dip, green curry mussels, NY strip steak) and our waiter was very friendly and respectful when it came to giving us our privacy to talk. We really want to come back in the winter because the inside is so cozy.
Parking is very limited. Food was average. French toast was nothing special. Chicken salad was made with a curry mayonnaise.
I love the atmosphere. The menu is too limited considering several of the entrees are dishes I would never order. Thought I would be having an upscale meal. Instead wound up having a burger.
The food here has really declined from its heyday. Mediocre particularly for the prices. The building is still amazing and the service was good. But the menu is stifled and our food didn't stand up to what WA Frost has been in the past. Not worth the prices.
The outdoor patio is very scenic. Nice in the shade. Older crowd during mid-day. Would love if their brunch specials were during the week and not just weekends. Food was delicious! Dessert was wonderful.
