We come to this restaurant at least once a year. We love the home-like setting: paintings on the walls, a fire in the fire place, dimmed lights. A cozy quiet place for a good conversation over great food. We always have something new from the changing menu - tweaked in interesting ways.

Have dined there 2-3/year for last decade. Great setting and ambiance but the food and menu is less than expected...particularly for the price. Great place to go for a drink but it hard to find anything on the menu which is particularly well done.

The service provided was professional and enjoyable. The food came within a good amount of time and drinks were served within a good amount of time as well! The manager is wonderful and knows how to provide great service. The downstairs has a romantic ambiance that is unlike any other in St. Paul or the Twin Cities for that matter. I would say I see this establishment as more of a lounge bar and good appetizer menu than a place I would go for a nice dinner. That being said, what they do well, they do REALLY well. Highly reco... read more

It is a romantic special occasion type restaurant. The menu is not huge but a decent variety. The sausage and potato soup was excellent. The food was very good. The lamb fell off the bone and so did the chicken. The basmati rice and cous cous were very tasty. The staff was very friendly, warm, and helpful. I took my girlfriend just after Christmas and they still had the Christmas decorations up and it had a old time feel to the place with the white lights and ornaments. There was a large Christmas tree by the hostess desk. T... read more

I was excited to eat here for the first time after hearing wonderful things about it. I was underwhelmed at best. For the type of restaurant atmosphere it is and the prices on the menu, our server was less than attentive, did not give us an opinions or help with ordering, did not offer up suggestions, we had to ask for dessert menu, did not keep the drinks flowing. The menu is a bit bizarre and there were way too many beets on everything--even desserts! The steaks which everyone at our table ordered were ALL petite with no s... read more

We have been to Frost several times but tonight was an off night. The place still had lovely holiday decorations, and we loved the ambiance. And service was fine. But the entrees were all wrong. The poached bass was tough and flavorless with an acerbic pancetta vinaigrette that just did not work. Ditto for the half-chicken. The chicken was prepared well (contrary to the fish) but laced with an overabundance of red pepper which made the skin and accompanying couscous almost inedible. Again, the dish did not work. The mushroom... read more

We took out-of-towners here so they could enjoy the holiday setting and historical ambience. The overall experience was ok as we were able to converse in the quiet atmosphere, but the food was really disappointing and we were embarrassed, because our guests know good food...the bahn mi was dry, served on thick, bread-y stuff that was a far cry from the real French baguette that is a requirement of this dish; the bouillabaisse broth was watery, thin, virtually tasteless, meager with seafood, the burger overcooked and dry. Suc... read more

I always enjoy WA Frost. The ambiance can't be beat. Service is great. I think it's a little spendy, but I still will go there once in a while. We were by the fire place. We were there after Christmas so it was still decorated for Christmas. It's always beautiful in there, but the additional Christmas decor was wonderful. Food was good. Service was excellent.
