Really surprised by all the negative reviews about this company. My first experience with Samia was in 2015 when I took over someone else's lease. I had been living in an apartment where my bedroom was not even legally a room. No windows, no ventilation, no closet, nothing. Basically I lived in a closet for $1000/month - welcome to Boston. For people who have issues with what they pay for what they get or feel buildings are old and run-down this is really not a Samia issues but a Boston issue. They will continue renting pl... read more

Yelpers can be the worst sometimes, but have no fear, I'm here to single-handedly offset all of the negative reviews of Samia Companies! Just kidding, I'm sure most of the other reviews are valid, but I'm also sure 99.9% of the wonderful experiences people have had with Samia aren't documented on Yelp. While living in the apartment, I only really ever had a few maintenance issues arise, which I think were addressed (or somehow resolved itself) within a day or so. I never had any issues with heat, and I think I only ran out... read more

When you are reading these reviews, keep in mind that a lot of these are going to skew negative and a lot of the time that is entirely the fault of the tenant or unreasonable expectations. I have lived in a Samia maintained property for 2 years. We have had reasonable rent increases, we have had NO pests (no mice, no ants, no cockroaches,) the building is startlingly well soundproofed, Samia has people clean out the common areas every week and every single time we have requested maintenance it has been dealt with quickly and... read more

Since there are so many negative reviews, let me kick a positive one this way. Here's the thing. If you want a palace, where nobody bothers you or makes noise and everything is to your exact liking, go buy a house. This is apartment living in a city. It is what it is, and more importantly, it is what you make of it. I'll admit I was skeptical of this company based on the reviews. This place fit a lot of my needs, so I took a chance. I've been living in one of their Brighton properties for a little over a month and I have ... read more

The people writing negative reviews on here must have dealt with completely different Samia employees than I do. I have lived in a Samia apartment in Allston since June 2015 and it has been great. The property manager, Alexandra Ann, always responds quickly and courteously. All of our maintenance requests have been addressed in a timely manner. The maintenance people are extremely nice and have gone above and beyond. They shovel all walkways and even our private deck when it snows. We unfortunately had to end our lease early... read more

My experience with the Samia Companies has been great.I have been living in my apartment for about 7 months and the maintenance is awesome. When I call the maintenance department they a prompt to get all problems resolved the same day. There have been times where maintenance where at my apartment in 30 minutes after my phone call. Recently I was having problems with my heat as it wasn't originally working. They were were prompt to get to problem resolved and wired up an external heater since my heat doesn't work well.My propert... read more

The apartment we rented isn't what we expected so we had to break the lease. Alexandra Ann, our property manager was excellent, not only she tried to help us look for another apartment within the companies, she also helped us minimize the fine (for breaking the lease). She responded almost instantly for anything we ask and always in a sweet manner. Trust me, I lived in Singapore and Japan (which always famous for being good hosts) before but I was completely blown away by Alexandra's attitude. If you rent a house from Samia,... read more

Samia has really stepped up their game since my review. Their communication is a lot better and they have been very proactive in making sure necessary repairs are made. I actually extended my lease with them because they have been so on top of things. :)

I have had a wonderful experience with this company. Everything was outlined clearly in our lease. Anytime we have an issue we send an email to maintenance an they arrive in 48 hours and everything is fixed. Due to personal obligations we had to break our lease. Our Property Manager Alexandra helped us with everything and got our apartment rented for us. The lease clearly reads that we are responsible until the end of the lease if it was not occupied. We did have to pay a fee but this is also clearly outlined in the lease. T... read more
