The serviceman worked by himself (his son did help him with easy chores) and even drained the hot water heater so that softened water would be used immediately. I had never been able to truly tell if the old softener was functioning properly and since this installation-- it is quite evident that this system is doing a great job. My only disappointment was that I had been told that someone would check back in the future to make sure that everything was satisfactory. During the research and bidding process, I learned more than I needed to know about soft water. I called three local companies and met with all of them. I saw top of the line and some very inexpensive systems. Alamo Water Softeners(AWS) andMr. Townsend made it very simple to understand. It went perfect. Trevor and his family are wonderful. Trevor came by the house to give us a quote etc. What I liked about him is that he was quoting us what he thought we needed, not what was going to be the most expensive. We set up a date and time for the installation. The team that came out was professional, prompt and polite. Plus, they had a good sense of humor. We had spoken to 2 other companies prior to hiring AWS and we were just not comfortable with the others, so we kept searching and we are so glad we did. Trevor, with AWS is very knowledgeable, polite and professional and he answered all of our questions to our satisfaction. Allen Townsend came out to talk to us the day after we called to set up the an appointment he explained our options and equipment. We told him we would like time to talk about it and get back with him. He was very pleasant, knowledgeable, and not pushy at all. When the they came to do the work they had to run the line from the other side of our house under the driveway into our garage. I want to tell youthatI had an approximate quote telephonically with AWS, before Trevor ever came out to see the set-up.
