Food was excellent and great service. I recommend to anyone staying in Hilton Head.

Just average. Decor and building are dated and ambience is missing something. No buzz, no character. Can't put my finger on it but it's just bland.
My husband and I dined at Alexander's and took advantage of their Early Bird special. The food was wonderful. I had the Pancetta Wrapped Grouper and he had Prime Rib. The portions were generous and meal was delightful. The service was prompt and friendly. We were finished in time to enjoy the evening and take advantage of a movie.
I requested a table on the porch and we got it. Nice choices for wine. The crab soup was excellent -- large lumps of crab and just the right amount of sherry. The prime rib could have been better -- barely warm. To many potatoes. Deserts were good. We've been going to Alexander's for more than 35 years and have always found it enjoyable. This visit was a 5 on a list of 10, however, we will try it again and hope for a better experience.
