The a/c must have been on high and the ceiling fans were on so it was cold.We ordered beef wellington that came in a pastry shell,the meat wasn't tender at all. The pastry shell was hard, it should have been soft and easy to cut. The shrimps we ordered were very good. For our entree we ordered the crab cakes and the veal wienerschnitzel. The crab cakes did not taste good at all. The bottoms were burnt, horrible. My wife and I had a wonderful meal on Saturday night. The restaurant was very bright and airy with multiple rooms and good space between tables so quiet enough for good conversation. Some of the tables had excellent views of the waterway outside although that room seemed to have more tables so may have been louder. The service was quick and excellent. We missed the homemade bread Alexander’s used to serve!
Not sure why, but we have been coming to Hilton Head for thirty years and have never been to Alexander’s, so this time, instead of the Old Oyster Factory, we decided to go to Alexander’s. Turned out to be a good idea, as it was a lot closer (driving just about anywhere on HHI becomes more of a pain in the neck with each passing year) and we enjoyed it. We were on property for a conference and decided to give the restaurant a shot. We were glad we did...it was excellent.
Excellent evening with my family! Our waitress, Sara, handled everything without a rush to turn the table. The food was the best we've had on the island this trip. A hidden gem!
