The large bus outside the restaurant should have been a telltale sign. Nevertheless, as local HHI residents we wanted to see if Alexander's had changed after the hurricane closing and subsequent re-opening. Overall, I would say it has not and still delivers reasonably good food with a very casual service level. Alexander's is under new ownership since we last dined there in 2016 and we loved the new look and ambiance. We also were very happy with our dinners. The Caesar salad was definitely unique and fresh and delish and my Winter Greens salad was wonderful. Veal was great and my flounder was lovely. Great cocktails, too.
We've been dining here for 20 years, even through the different owners. I must admit, our most recent meal was outstanding. Our waitress, Michelle was spot on... she made recommendations and was very accommodating. We did the early bird menu and what a great value. Still one of our favorites after all these years.
My wife and I enjoyed a great meal at Alexander's. We especially enjoyed the Manhattans. The bartender knew just how to mix them! Paul, our waiter, was very attentive. He anticipated our needs and was very helpful with menu suggestions. We will definitely return to this restaurant.
