As a visiter to San Diego this was my first time to the Alegro restaurant, but hopefully it will not be my last. Two of us split the Parmesan wheel, which was pasta with a mushroom cream sauce that was outstanding and my husband had seabass over a bed of spinach that was fantastic. The service and the ambience were lovely as well and the prices were not unreasonable for this area.
We had the 3 course restaurant week menu. Food was excellent, generous portions and service was warm and very quick. The artichoke appetizer and the pasta dishes were excellent. The lemoncello pastry and tiramisu was an excellent way to wind up a wonderful meal. Highly recommend the place.
The service was great, and it's such a nice spot in a fun neighborhood. I experienced a technical difficulty when booking, and they took care of it like it was no big deal and our server the night of was so personable. The cocktails were hit and miss, the food was outstanding, but the dessert was disappointing. I definitely want to go back to try other things but for dessert I think I'll be walking down the block to Salt & Straw.

Server was wonderful, I wish I caught his name but he was a gentleman with grey hair a pony tail. He was absolutely wonderful and the food went above and beyond expectations. We are excited to go back!
The food was spectacular. The service was one of the of the best. Pietro answered questions and made the experience. Ambience reminded me of restaurant in Italy.

Staff was polite and friendly. Food and drinks were not up to par. I ordered the rigatoni with sausage. Pasta was over cooked, sauce had no flavor and it was cold. I ordered the fumoso old fashioned - worst old fashioned I’ve ever had. We were sat next to a bachelorette party, couldn’t even have a conversation. Overall, Allergo was overpriced for the experience we received.
