First off they charge my dad $9.99 to call and order propane. The driver wouldn't take a payment so then they charged $2.99 to send him a bill in the mail. When we called they said you have to cerate an account so you can order and pay that way. Well my 85 year old father doesn't have a computer or good internet at his home. So I tried to create an account for him at my house and there system wouldn't take his address or the account number they listed on the bill? Then I called to pay over the automated phone system and it c... read more

Used propane to heat lakeside vacation cottage. Requested tanks be removed which was completed; however, a $500 charge was invoiced with no prior notice of this fee. When Amerigas was contacted, they would not eliminate or reduce fee as 'it is their practice'. This is shameful as no notice was given that ANY fee would be applied.

I have been trying to get Amerigas to stop my service for over a year and a half now. The tank is not even hooked up to my propane, the tank from another propane company is what Im using. I am unable to get them to come pick up the tank, instead they keep adding tank rentals to my account.

Very hard to deal with. I was charged fees without proper billing for tank rental. They have exorbitant fees for pickup of tanks upon terminating service. Product cost is more than twice that of competitors. Very disappointing . I am surprised they maintain the right to do business in *****.

My parents have been customers for 22 years and were going to pre-buy a summer fill in July. It was way over priced so they wanted to go with another company and asked them to remove the tank in July. My parents had to contact them multiple times until they finally said it would be done by this week. Well its the end of the week and it still hasnt been done. AmeriGas is not reliable and I advise anyone reading this to go with a different company if you need propane to heat your home because they do not care!

I purchased gas for my house and 1 hour later I went to my fathers house to purchase gas for him. We both do the pre buy every year, he is 95 years old and the price for him 1 hour after I bought my gas was 1.07 dollars more per gallon than mine. We live less than a quarter mile apart. I told the person I had just purchased my gas an hour ago but they insisted that this was the price and that they could not lower it to the 2.49 that I paid. I called them back 3 times to try to get a better price because you never get the sam... read more

This has been an going battle with Amerigas to receive a written estimate and proposal for work that needs to be done at our property in *******. Firstly, they did NOT show for the scheduled work at our home on 9.8; on 9.9 when I noticed that the propane level had gone from 40% to 5%, we were concerned there might be a leak. That got their attention. The tech came to our home on 9.9 and we learned that the gauge was faulty so it was replaced. The service call -- not the repair -- was charged at $365. That is excessive. We we... read more

I'm a new customer and have spent over 25 hours on the phone trying to get our account set up correctly. ******** customer service. Overcharging on fuel. They said my new "first installation" would be cheap. The cost was $2.799 per gallon. The going rate right now is $2.588 per gallon. This does not include ALL the fees and service cost associated with the delivery. How can people afford this?

Tried to become a new customer (before reading the massive amount of negative reviews). Two no show appointments to setup new service without any explanation. This company doesnt even care about you before you become a customer let alone after becoming one. Pick anyone else except Amerigas
