After many unproductive conversations and 2 attempts to purchase tank, we've been denied. -Lease charge increased by 12% over past two years. -Amerigas prices for filling the tank are markedly higher than local market.-Amerigas frequently adds new fees. Crooks! Canceled service in June 2025; asked when will they pick up their tank? There will be a $420 charge to pick up their tank, was told by AmeriGas. Ok, just to get rid of them, we'll do it. But we have over $525 in our account that we made monthly payments to them for our propane. As of June we have NOT got any of our money back. Even if we pay $420 to pick up their tank, we should still get some money back. Plus, the tank has 40% propane in it that AmeriGas is supposed to buy back, AmeriGas said. There are multiple reasons for this negative review:Unethical business practice of having us assume a contract from the previous owners of our home without notice when we called to have the first propane fill. We were put on an autofill plan, but multiple times had to make emergency delivery calls because the propane ran out. This left us without heat in the winter multiple times and some for more than 2 days. If I could give a zero start I would. I had service done on 7/30 for what I thought was a leak. It ended up just being that the release valve pressure went off because the tank got hot according to the service guy. Then tech then said oh I will take the tank in case there is an issue and replace it with another. It's been over 20 plus days and still no tank. Requested tank refill. Was charged for the gas and $140.00 inspection. Was told I had a leak. Someone to be out the next day. Did not show until a week later. The field *** said I did NOT have a leak. The Teflon tape used on a connector needed replacement. Now I have been charged $215.00. I called their horrible customer service, they said it was for a survey. I didn't do a survey. Don't have any idea what this is for!!
Do NOT trust Amerigas. I owned an underground tank that was sold with the house to a new owner. I was not even an Amerigas customer. ********************** put a device on my tank while no one was there so it appeared that Amerigas was the propane provider; it was not. Apparently, this is something they do when they know a house is for sale. When the new owner called to have it removed (they wanted to use a different propane company) Amerigas told him that it owned the tank and only Amerigas would be allowed to fill the tank... read more
This company has absolutely the worst customer service ! You can never reach a human and if you do they are in another country and dont have a clue. Horrible company. They make everything. Harder and more stressful.
25+ year customers. July '25 ran out of gas. Delivery stopped in December '24 without notifying us, of their defective 1000 gallon tank in ground on our property. Still no gas! Horrific experience.
Worst company I have ever dealt with. Good luck reaching anyone on the phone when they deliver your full tank to someone else. Hours on the phone only to hear my gauge must be broken. Had to call in a gas leak just to get someone to admit they delivered to the wrong address. Canceled them and so much better with a local company.
