The absolutely very worst customer service ever. I have an aging tank (30 yrs) and have safety concerns. I attempted to have a site survey to check tank integrity and possible leaks and there were "no shows" and "no follow-up communication" from Amerigas. Impossible to speak to a local representative, all calls are routed to customer service centers (one is Asia and one in **).
I was a customer to ********************** for residential propane. They continually charged me for tank rental and maintenance for cleaning and painting the tank and never once touched it. I have been a customer for over 20 years and am now retired and on a limited income. Their costs were well over all other companys I reviewed and had no choice but to cancel my propane account my with them. I called to cancel my service and was told I have a balance of $165.(lock in price for this year and a late charge) I told them I was not paying for something g I did not use. They said there would be a charge for removing the tank..I told them I was not paying them to remove a tank they own. They put me on hold a d I hung up. Never use Amerigas.
I have experienced the same as all other reviewers on th8s site. Cannot find some one who speaks understandable English. They are charging me like other reviewers trumped up charges. There is no reasoning with them. I went from Dec 27 to the end of winter with no gas due to it leaking twice into my house. They could not or would not fix the problem. First issues: told delivery date and was told that we had to be home when the delivery person arrived or they would not pump the gas. We waited all day and then received an automated cancellation call at 4:45 stating that we needed to call the office to reschedule. Once we finally got a live person on the phone, reschedule was difficult. We were also told that we had to prepay so we chose 150 gallons and prepaid for the full amount. Delivery guy was great. Like all the other complaints... mine is similar. Have been a customer for about 20 years. We believed we had a propane leak and called customer service. They advised that they would send someone out to check. NO MENTION OF A CHARGE. Service guy came out and spent 10 minutes and confirmed leak at pipe by the house. Said he had to disconnect tank until it was ***aired. Received bill for $149.63 for Emergency Call and $119.99 for Service Dispatch!!! I WAS a client for over *********************************************************************** 2000. I was on "stay full" status so they were responsible for keeping the propane tank full. several times a year I would come home from work to find I had no gas. I would call and get a refill that evening. Every time Amerigas would try to charge me an additional fee for a pressure test. Horrible scammers! The house I moved into came with an Amerigas tank and I didnt know any better. Signed a 3 year contract. They charge nearly twice as much per gallon as local propane providers and its a nightmare to try to talk to any customer service reps. **** out for auto delivery conveniently the day after propane prices spiked, even though my tank was at 60%. I cancelled auto delivery and used up what was left in the tank, new provider came out and moved Amerigas tank, hooked up new tank free of charge. Hadnt gotten p... read more
In April 1, 2025 Amerigas replaced a 500 gal propane tank that was 25 years old. The technician missed a leak and Amerigas kept delivering 1034 gal over a few months when I normally use 300 gal per year. I showed my usage data and they only credited 100 gal when 734 gal were lost. I've escalated 5 times but the resolution team will not help or go against the regional districts investigation.
