Horrific and illegal business practices. They do not own our tanks yet sent us to collections for tank rental fees, despite spending over $3,000 with them annually for over ten years. . The collection company ceased collection action once Amerigas was unable to provide a lease agreement.

I keep receiving an incorrect bill for over $400.00 on a property that was sold over 2 years ago for services that happened in the last 12 months. They're billing the wrong person. I explained that I closed the account and the bill should be sent to the new home owner. They have not fixed the problem still after 3 phone calls = 3 hours. Very Disgruntled -********

I have been with the previous company and they they merged and It was ********* I been with them since 1988. I was told in 2023 that if I stay with the company they will give me 2024 and 2025 free tank rental. Guess what I have a bill 6/25 for #***,00. And they continue to add late charges while I get and answer what to do. I also asked them for my original contract and to email it to me and who signed it and their supervisor happened to be ********. instead of Africa or ***** said we do not have that information. She said i... read more

I recently realized that my privately owned propane tank had a leak and was completely empty. I normally have auto-delivery of propane so I called in to tell them not to deliver propane to my house. Amerigas insisted on sending someone right away to my house and sent a local driver out to check out the tank. He confirmed the tank was empty and likely had a leak. He proceeded to put propane in the tank to "check" the leak, he stated it would be a couple of gallons. The leak was verified and the tank was flagged for non-use. A... read more

Amerigas is not trustworthy, customer conscience and excels at bad faith business practices. All customer service calls go offshore followed by a usual hold of at least 30 minutes. (My experience) outrageous charges and robbery without a gun when you cancel service. I am 2 miles from their local facility and had their tank drained and positioned for easy pickup. 30 minutes and the pickup was complete. Now I receive a bill for $419.98 for picking up THEIR equipment! No notice, no explanation just a bill. I have written them t... read more

After many unproductive conversations and 2 attempts to purchase tank, we've been denied. -Lease charge increased by 12% over past two years. -Amerigas prices for filling the tank are markedly higher than local market.-Amerigas frequently adds new fees. Amerigas can impose at their discretion.-Amerigas entered our property without notice to install a tank monitor, permitted by contract. We are responsible for ensuring safe & unimpeded access, including keeping entry gates unlocked and clearing hazards. **************** view,... read more

Crooks! Canceled service in June 2025; asked when will they pick up their tank? There will be a $420 charge to pick up their tank, was told by AmeriGas. Ok, just to get rid of them, we'll do it. But we have over $525 in our account that we made monthly payments to them for our propane. As of June we have NOT got any of our money back. Even if we pay $420 to pick up their tank, we should still get some money back. Plus, the tank has 40% propane in it that AmeriGas is supposed to buy back, AmeriGas said. It is now, Sept 2025, ... read more

There are multiple reasons for this negative review:Unethical business practice of having us assume a contract from the previous owners of our home without notice when we called to have the first propane fill. We were put on an autofill plan, but multiple times had to make emergency delivery calls because the propane ran out. This left us without heat in the winter multiple times and some for more than 2 days. We had two tanks and on multiple occasions both were not filled and we had to repeatedly call to remind Amerigas to ... read more
