The process was really easy. It took a while, but that was expected. The results are really hard to believe though. My Harper looks like a Chihuahua terrier mix and weighs 7 pounds. However, the results say she's a Yorkie (62%), Argentine Pila (16%), Maltese (13%), and Beagle (9%) mix. She has short tanish-red fur, long pointy ears, and the snout of a Chihuahua. It is hard to believe she is what the results say she is. I've never even heard of a Argentine Pila. Supposedly they are a rare breed, especially in the USA. I'm not... read more
The whole experience was simple and easy and the results were just as I thought 🐕🐾❤️
So glad to hear my boy is 100% doberman. I got him from someone who could no longer keep him and was told he was 100% doberman although some of his facial features didn't seem right. Ancestry Pet DNA confirmed he was in fact 100%. Thank you!
Easy and fast process. The final report gave an easy to understand breakdown
It was interesting to learn that your DNA analysis was wrong. My dog is not 100% Shar-Pei. She has long, curly hair and large feet. She will be quite a large dog. Shar-Pei only get to 50 lb unless they are overweight. I did the DNA test to see what she was mixed with. I'm thinking labradoodle. I've had three other Shar-Pei and they were nothing near this size. Plus, Shar Pei never have curly coats. She also has webbed feet. I'd love to send you a picture.
There were a couple of surprises and confirmations to what we thought the results might contain. There was only one identifier that did not match. That could be from the part of the dna analyzed not including the code for white hair. Stella has a couple very small patches of white hair. When people ask her breed, I am able to rattle off the top three percentages.
Well my dog definitely has Jack Russell in him but it didn't show in the test
Good. But she's definitely Belgian, not German Shepard.
Fast results. Breed was what I thought, but I was hoping for more information about my pup. A bit disappointed. I heard a different companie's test is better.
